Ezekiel 39

Ezekiel 39 Commentary

by Brad Boyles

Until the time that Jerusalem fell, the message of Ezekiel was negative and full of judgment. Now, God turns His attention towards hope. There would be a new spirit, new leadership, and a new victory to be found.

“Then they will know that I am the LORD their God because I made them go into exile among the nations, and then gathered them again to their own land; and I will leave none of them there any longer.  29  “I will not hide My face from them any longer, for I will have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,” declares the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel 39:28-29 NASB

It is the grace of God that overwhelms. It comes unexpectedly. God’s glory will be set among the nations and it will come through grace offered to His people. This is a theme we see in Scripture dating all the way back to Genesis with Adam and Eve. God’s purpose was to make His blessings known to His people with a priority placed on the spiritual blessings that He designed from the beginning.

God demonstrated these blessings to His people even after they rebelled with idol worship and completely rejected His counsel. The grace of God is supremely overwhelming!
