The ark landed upon the mountains of Ararat (pictured) and the flood was finally over. The silver lining of the storms of life are the spiritual blessings that make us more like Christ. Because we have proclaimed that we will follow Him, God will allow us to walk through life in the same manner. Becoming like Jesus not only means becoming more grace-filled and loving, but it also means suffering as He suffered.

Noah and his family metaphorically represent our journey with God. Though the storms may come, He has promised to be with us. When the dust settles, we come to find elusive blessings that otherwise would have never been discovered.

The flood’s ending was capped off with the amazing promise of God to never destroy the Earth like this again. The soothing aroma of Noah’s sacrifice pleased God. But it wasn’t just about the sacrifice. Noah’s heart pleased God. His commitment to God’s plan and patience through the storm is what preceded this amazing promise through God.

This storm was God’s judgment, but Noah and his family were spared due to their faith and trust in the Lord. Therefore, this storm of judgment became a doorway to an amazing promise and victory through the Lord. This is what God does, right? For those who trust and persevere, He guides them by night into the radiant sunshine of His eternal glory.

Are we believing there are great promises to be fulfilled on the horizon? Do we, as Noah did, remember and honor the Lord’s protection through the most turbulent times? Let us not forget to thank the Lord for His amazing mercy and faithfulness. He. Is. Faithful.
